PAS 808:2022 is the British Standards Institution's guidance on what it means to be a purpose-driven organisation (PDO) in practice. It defines the worldviews, principles and behaviours that distinguish a genuinely purpose-driven organisation from one that merely claims the language.
Converii adopts this framework as the basis for its strategic approach.
Our Purpose Statement
Converii empowers human connectors (Convenors, gatherers and all who bring people together) with the language, the frameworks, and scalable tech so the invisible work of sustainability and systems change becomes visible and every gathering (conference, festival, community meeting, sport event, celebration or protest) has a positive impact, actively contributes to a regenerative, distributive, and equitable future.
This purpose statement is not a brand statement. Think of it like the pair of glasses we put on to look at the world through ‘Converii's eyes'.
How Converii Sees the World
1. People and planet matter equally
Converii does not treat the wellbeing of people and the health of natural systems as competing priorities. The platform is built on the understanding that sustainable events serve both — and that the separation of 'environmental' and 'social' sustainability is a false one. ISO 20121:2024 and Doughnut Economics are examples both reflect this integration. So does Converii.
2. Everyone deserves the same level of respect and concern
The people who design and deliver gatherings span every geography, budget, and institutional context. Converii's freemium model is a direct expression of this worldview: the starting point of the platform is free because we believe access to credible sustainability support should not be reserved for those who can afford it.
3. Nature has a right to wellbeing
Converii's frameworks — including the Doughnut Economics principles and the Race to Zero Accelerator alignment — are grounded in the recognition that planetary boundaries are not negotiable constraints but the non-negotiable precondition for everything else. Our platform tools are designed to help users act within them.
4. Long-term value matters more than short-term extraction
Every commercial decision Converii makes is tested against this question: does this serve the long-term health of the field, or does it extract short-term value at the expense of it? Our 10% income commitment, our open co-creation model, and our freemium access tier are all expressions of this worldview.
PAS 808 Principles — How Converii Acts
PAS 808 identifies seven principles of a purpose-driven organisation. The following describes how Converii applies each:
Principle 1 — Purpose
Converii's purpose is defined, documented, and used as a decision-making filter. This Purposeful Business Strategy is the primary accountability document for that purpose. It is reviewed annually.
Principle 2 — Governance
Converii commits to governing itself in a way that is consistent with its purpose. This includes transparent reporting of its 10% income commitment, honest communication about the platform's capabilities and limitations, and co-creation practices that give users genuine influence over the product roadmap.
Principle 3 — People
Converii treats the wellbeing of everyone who interacts with the platform — users, partners, ambassadors, employees, and the communities events serve — as a core responsibility. We will not grow at the expense of the people we exist to support.
Principle 4 — Planet
Converii operates a digital platform; its direct environmental footprint is primarily in its technology infrastructure. We commit to understanding and minimising this footprint as we grow, and to ensuring that the sustainability actions we recommend to users are ones we hold ourselves to.
Principle 5 — Prosperity
Converii is a commercial business. We need to be financially sustainable to fulfil our purpose. Our commercial model — freemium access, Implementor and Leader subscription tiers, and enterprise partnerships — is designed to generate the revenue that makes our 10% commitment possible and sustains the platform's development. We do not apologise for being a business; we are transparent about how being a business serves our purpose.
Principle 6 — Transparency
Converii commits to being honest about what it is, what it can do, what it cannot yet do, and how it makes money. This includes: clear explanation of AI use and data handling; honest representation of what the platform enables (ideas and frameworks for action, not certification); transparent reporting of the 10% commitment; and plain-language policies.
Principle 7 — Accountability
Converii is accountable to its users, to the Positive Impact community that benefits from its 10% commitment, and to the wider field it aspires to serve. We publish our accountability documents publicly, invite feedback, and commit to updating them when circumstances change.
How We Measure Progress
Converii is an early-stage business. Our measurement approach will grow with us. In the near term, we commit to tracking and reporting:
Annual income and the 10% contribution to Positive Impact
Number of users accessing the free tier (as a measure of access)
Number of AI-supported checklists and sustainability plans generated
Geographic reach of users
Co-creation contributions — user feedback incorporated into the roadmap
This strategy is a living document, aligned with PAS 808:2022. As Converii matures, we will develop a more comprehensive impact measurement framework.
